Membership Information

Become a TWBC Member

TWBC welcomes riders of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Founded in 1888, TWBC serves to promote and develop safe bicycling for recreation, health, and alternate transportation. Club rides occur year-round with the focus being on camraderie, enjoyment, and adventure. Longer excursions of a week or more occur during the summer. TWBC hosts three organized events, the Daffodil Classic, Peninsula Metric Century, and Headwaters Century. Join or renew now!

• Family Membership: $20.00
• Individual Membership: $15.00

Note: There is a one-time $5.00 initiation fee for new members in addition to the membership fee.

Special Introductory Membership Offer

TWBC has partnered with the Bicycle Alliance of Washington to offer Special Introductory Memberships to help each organization grow. If a person has not been a member of the respective organizations before and purchases a new bicycle from one of the participating bike shops, they can receive certificates good for a free one-year special introductory membership. Be sure to ask your sales person for a packet that contains the membership applications, special offer certificates, and pre-addressed envelopes. The offer is restricted to new, not renewing or past members and some restrictions apply. TWBC limits the the Cog-nitive Courier newsletter to email only with this offer. Current participating bike shops include:

• Black Diamond Bike & Backcountry located in Black Diamond
• Bonney Lake Bicycle Shop of Sumner located in Sumner
• Old Town Bicycle locations in Gig Harbor and Tacoma

• Trailside Cyclery located in Orting

• Rides: Attendance on guided rides throughout the year.
• Bicycle boxes: Suitable for carrying bicycles in reserve in advance.  Contact equipment@twbc.org
• Bicycle trailer: single-wheeled bob trailer.  Contact equipment@twbc.org
• Camping fees: For club rides (check for stipulations).
• Ferry fees: Paid for all riders in the Rilly Hilly ride on Vashon Island as an alternative to the Chilly Hilly Ride on Bainbridge Island.
• Picnic: All you can eat catered picnic at the middle or end of summer.
• Banquet: Subsidized annual awards and social event.
• Newsletter: Monthly PDF publication with updates on rides and information about bicycling in Tacoma and Pierce County.

The following bicycle shops offer a 10% discount on parts and accessories for current TWBC members. You must present your valid membership card before the sale is rung up. The discount applies only to cash or check sales; no credit cards. Sale items may be excluded.
