    Headwaters Century - 9/27/2009

Event Overview Choose from 45-mile, 65-mile, or 100-mile loops starting at Enumclaw High School. Enumclaw, WA is situated on a plateau in a rural area with little traffic. Moderate traffic, however, may be encountered on a 3/4-mile stretch of SR 169 near Maple Valley and for 1 mile on Kent Kangley Road for the 65-mile and 100-mile routes. All routes contain moderate rolling hills with alternating flat sections and the longer routes do have more climbing -- appx. 3300' for 65 miles and 4500' for 100 miles. There is one 1.5 mile long hill near Black Diamond that all riders must climb. The 100-mile also includes the climb to Mud Mountain Dam and descent. The 45-mile route has two rest stops and the 65-mile and 100-mile have three. There will be mechanical and sag support. The Tacoma Wheelmen's Bicycle Club provides a great variety of biker food at the rest stops. And at the finish there's dessert!
