John Wayne Trail Camping Trip
JEB and Bob Myrick will be leading a trip on the John Wayne Trail from Monday, August 12 to Friday, August 16. You will need a Discover Pass on your vehicle at Rattlesnake Lake or pay higher fees. The lake is located near Interstate 90, exit 32, about 3 miles southeast of North Bend and about 35 miles east of Seattle. You can arrive at your convenience.
First day will hopefully be thru the tunnel to Cold Creek Camp, 25 miles. Second day will be to Lake Easton State Park(site 88, ADA), 18.5 miles. This site can accommodate one vehicle and hold up to 8 people on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Third day will be to South Cle Elum, 13 miles. We will dine at Smokey's BBQ and return to Lake Easton. The Iron Horse B&B is still closed due to fire damage.
Fourth day will be back to Cold Creek Camp, 18.5 miles. Fifth day will be thru the tunnel again, 25 miles to Rattlesnake Lake.
You will need 4 dinners and 4 breakfasts and 5 lunch items along the way. Standard camping gear plus a water filter or tablets.
You can play and hike along the route. We can accommodate 6 people at our site and there are hiker/biker sites as well. If we have 8 campers, cost is $10.
