Tacoma Washington Bicycle Club presents the 2017 Tacoma Century Challenge, an overlapping loop design passing through the central point of the Fircrest Community Center Pavilion. Seven routes will take you through Tacoma and surrounding areas.

    Some highlights of each route:

    1. Warm up the legs with 3 loops of this 1.6 mile loop through Fircrest

    2. Ruston Way waterfront route

    3. South Tacoma route including S Park Avenue, Water Ditch Trail, and Tyler Street

    4. Central Tacoma route to the Tide-flats and Stadium Way

    5. Narrows Bridge and Cushman Trail (to Rosedale only) in Gig Harbor

    6. University Place route to Chambers Bay

    7. Relatively flat route crossing the North End and the remainder of the Scott Pierson Trail

    8. Not a route, but a ride over to the Alehouse Pub & Eatery for celebration drinks!

Riding every route will be 100 miles with a total elevation gain of over 5,000 feet. Riders can complete all seven (7) routes in sequence (recommended) or they are free to ride any combination of loops in whatever sequence they wish. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself to go a distance or elevation climb that maybe you haven't done yet this season. Women are especially encouraged to join us for a great day of riding!

    Route Maps and More Information

This is a TWBC ride where participation is FREE to members, but we do suggest a donation of $15 to help cover the costs of snacks, drinks, SAG, and a food "tip" to our volunteer mechanic provided during the morning of the ride. Donations may also help cover the cost of those who would like to become a TWBC member but cannot afford the membership fee.  If you are not currently a member, individuals can join for just $15/year or $20/year for families.  Join today!

Please note that bathroom facilities do not open until 8AM.

Limited number of event t-shirts will be available for sale on the day of the event for $15.  Or bring your own t-shirt and we will press the above logo onto it for $10 (for best results, avoid white or black shirt colors--the green color in the logo will show as the actual color of your shirt).

Utilizing 22 miles of the gorgeous Willapa Hills Trail, Ride the Willapa offers a go-at-your-own-pace, build-your-own-experience kind of ride. There are many sights and stops to see, from the Tour de Farms, Rainbow Falls Campout, and at the ride’s terminus – the Pe Ell, WA Village Festival. This flat-grade journey gives you a front seat to what many riders would agree is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places Washington state has to offer. Starting and then ending the next day at the Chehalis Veterans Museum, you can make as many stops and check out as many things as you’d like on the trail. There is something for everyone.
