Other Opportunities
Beyond volunteering to help with our special events---the Daffodil Classic, the Peninsula Metric and RAPSody-----there are many other ways to help with Club’s activities.
If you like riding and know a good route or two in Pierce County, consider becoming a Ride Leader. Offering a variety of rides throughout the year is the backbone of our club. The more Ride Leaders we have, the stronger we will be.
Once a year, at the June monthly meeting, members elect the Club Officers---President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Ride Co-ordinator, Newsletter Editor, Director of Special Events and Director of Community and Government Relationsundefinedfor a one year term. These Club officers are the Board members. As Board members they meet once a month, usually on the second Tuesday of the month, for about two hours to make decisions on behalf of the Club.
Other volunteer positions in the club are our non-paid staff positions such as Equipment Manager, Membership, Membership Database and Mailing, Publicity Coordinator and Safety and Education. These positions have no time limit to them---and we are always grateful to the members who step forward and take on these needed chores.
Occasionally, we participate in community event---such as helmet fittings, bike expos, community fairs, etc. Calls for volunteers to help with these events will appear in the eNews and monthly newsletter. Please help with these events as you are able.
